That weekend FLEW by!

Morning!

Well...this weekend went to fast...as per usual!

Friday night Shane and I went to buy a couch for our newly renovated basement. We found one we loved and that was the right size (after 2 solid weeks of looking) and the sales guy didn't want to help us! We ended up going to the same store (but a different town) Saturday morning and bought it! The best part? An employee overheard us complaining about the other store that he called over to complain for us! Then we got 30% off!

We ended up spending about $400 less than we were expecting! WOOT!

One of my best friends came home for a visit from Ottawa this weekend, so Saturday night we went for dinner at Martini's (yum!) It was a late dinner (were seated at 9pm), so he headed straight to the bar after to get some dancing in! We all dressed up so it was a ton of fun.

Sunday Natalie and I went to Ikea, and then after dinner Shane and I went to a lacross game. My friend's hubby is the team trainer, so we got in for free...it was pretty sweet :)\
I am currently ONE WEEK binge free! WOOT! I completely planned everything that I ate on Saturday night, and though it was tempting to eat all the yummy food at Ikea yesterday, I chose wisely and had room for a treat :)
Tomorrow night we're going to a BBQ, I'm hoping for the best!

Woooo!!! I did it!!!

So last night was my friend Ian's birthday dinner. I checked out the menu ahead of time and narrowed my dinner down to two choices:

1. Chicken Caesar Salad
2. Chicken Breast Dinner

I ended up ordering the Chicken Breast Dinner which came with mini red potatoes and veggies. I made sure to ask that they didn't put any additional sauces or butter/oil on my meal and I sneaked in my own margarine for the potatoes!

It was SO good and I didn't go overboard with all the other options that were available (and trust me...I was tempted a few times!)

I had one piece of sourdough bread that they brought fresh to the table with homemade basil salsa (even though I could have had the whole loaf...of which they brought 3 loaves for the SIX of us!)

Before we got there I decided (and also told Shane) that I wasn't going to have dessert, and that if he wanted some I would just have a teeny bite of his and that was it! I ended up ordering Sorbet, but somewhere along the line the waiter forgot about it...so I took that as a sign and didn't remind him. I'm feeling really proud of myself! Rarely do I stick with my pre-determined choices when I go to a restaurant. I'm going to just try to remember this feeling this weekend when I have another dinner out with a friend coming to visit from Ottawa!

Tomorrow is weigh in, and the scale hasn't budged all week. I'm hoping for at least a STS (stays the same) from last week...if not, I'll just work harder next week!

Already tired and it's only Tuesday!

Good morning :)

So last night I attended my third OA meeting...though I'm not a religious person, I'm trying to see past that aspect of the meetings and take from them what I can and what I need. After the meeting I went to the gym! I actually dragged myself there! Awesome!

The rest of this week is going to be super busy so I need to figure a way to get more exercise in. Tonight I have my monthly Aloette sales meeting, then tomorrow is dinner out for a friend's birthday, thursday we're going to a BBQ to celebrate a coworkers recent nuptuals and on the weekend, one of my best friends is coming home from Ottawa! I also have to go to Orillia this weekend!! Like I said....busy week!

My WI is on friday morning....and I took a peek at the scale this morning and I'm back to where I was last friday (and considering how bad the weekend was, I'm pretty happy lol) I'm hoping my activity will offset the weekend...wish me luck :)

What a busy weekend!

Good Monday Morning!

This weekend went by wayyy too fast!

Friday night Shane had his dad and a few friends over to watch the game. I'm not much of a hockey fan unless I'm at a live game...(oh wow...I really sound pretty picky don't I? hehe) I took off for the gym and did something I've never done before....

....I ran for 10, count them, TEN minutes STRAIGHT!



That's never happened before!

And then I did it AGAIN!

Needless to say, I'm *still* sore!

Saturday I went to a card making workshop! I am a scrapper, but now I love making cards! So many different things you can do! Saturday night Shane and I went out for dinner and then just vegged at home.

Sunday I had a photoshoot at my house. I sell Aloette cosmetics, but another thing I do is offer my make-up application skillz for weddings, prom etc. I basically had this shoot to build my portfolio in hopes of getting more business by showing my "talent" (I suppose??) lol Pictures to come!

Sunday night we went to see The Hangover!

It. Was. SO. GOOD! I didn't stop laughing through the whole movie!

Anyway, this weekend wasn't the best for eating, that's for sure. Though I am really happy that I got myself to the gym, and I will be working out tonight and I'm going to try to get some other form of exercise this week....maybe bike to work tomorrow (5km each way). This week is going to be a really busy one...so I'll keep you posted! :D

And so....Skinny Chik Blog is created :)

So!

I've decided to become more accountable on here! I've been reading other blogs (priorfatgirl, etc) and they have motivated me to get my thoughts, opinions and well...even complaints surrounding my journey to being healthy.

A little background on me....
I was always heavier than the other kids growing up. When I was in my first year of college, I decided to do something about it. I lost 20 lbs, kept it off and then put it back on. Then I lost 30 lbs and by the time I was out of college for a year put it back on, plus another 50!

Over the last year and a half, I've lost over 85lbs. My goal is to lose another 15-20 lbs. I've been able to lose this weight by counting points using Weight Watchers.
